Glaze - ‘Fair’

Growing up the county fair signified the end of summer, the last hurrah before school started back up. Everyone would make their plans to meet up: buy your week pass, ride tickets, an unlimited ride wristband (if you were lucky), and bring some extra cash from your summer job. Once the rides were set up and the barns were full of 4-H animals, it was time for fair week.

Hot dogs and cotton candy, the scrambler and ferris wheel, fish in a bag from the ping pong ball stand, bumper cars with your crush, lemonade shake-ups, 4H bunnies – and last but not least, the sky filling with oranges and blues as the sun went down. Then the multicolor lights from all the rides and stands would steal the show, creating a blend of color that I will never forget.

The orange and pink hues are tied to the colors found in the cotton candy and the sky just as the sun goes down, adding to the barrage of shades and tints already present at the fair.
