Glaze - “Shed”

No, we are not talking about that ramshackle storage area in your backyard. In the Midwest, if you go for a stroll in the woods around January-February, you might stumble upon a sharp, pointed bone sticking out of the snow. These are called "sheds" – antlers that a buck (male deer) naturally drops in the winter. Shedding an antler doesn’t hurt the buck at all; the antlers will grow back, usually bigger than the previous year. They are pretty rare to find, but you start to get an eye for them. The real treat, however, is the stroll in the woods that comes with the search.

The subtle browns coming through the speckled matte white resemble a weathered antler. The texture is both smooth and rough at the same time – something you just have to hold in your hands to appreciate.
